The monthly magazine
French Talker, of which I am a great reader and which you can download from the web, presents in the February issue an investigation entitled We will all become like Belgium. No prejudice towards this country, but only an analysis based on a book written on the topic of immigration by Alain Destexhe, Belgian senator and former general secretary of Doctors Without Borders.
- In the last ones 20 years, Belgium naturalized 700 thousand people, that is to say almost the 6% of the population, excluding illegal immigrants and those who have requested asylum in Brussels.
- Il 56% of the inhabitants are of foreign origin (in this regard, the senator complains that this wave of migration occurred secretly without any debate in the country).
- Il 50% of young Muslims in Belgium declare themselves anti-Semitic.
- Il 70% of Muslims living in Belgium believe that their religious values and sharia are superior to state laws.
- In the 2050, at this pace, Muslim immigrants could be the 18% of the population of Belgium (which means that the political structure, the country's social and cultural life would be completely disrupted).
Whoever brings this data comes branded as racist, but the opposite is true: the debate on migration policies is good for European citizens, but also for those who arrive regularly in our country.
We will become like Belgium? Hard to say. Of course, we will need to ask Europe for greater firmness and coordination in governing immigration. The politics of port press it didn't work. To insist would be suicidal.
