A group of Christian homosexuals and lesbians operates in the diocese of Lucca

THE PASTORAL OF “CONCILIAR CHURCH”
Of Tommaso Monfeli
In the diocese of Lucca there is something new: in fact, for some time now an organized group of Christian homosexuals and lesbians has been active and every fortnight they meet in the premises of the Caritasbehind the church of San Martino. The diocesan weekly reported it Lucca 7 and the news was relaunched by Journal of Lucca.
The name of the group is "Walking opens Cammino“, which is also the title of a famous text by brother Arturo Paoli. Participants gather under the spiritual guidance of Don Alessandro Bertolacci, and the group was born from a process of discussion with the archbishop of Lucca, Monsignor Italo Castellani. They also have their own Facebook page. Last 19 The first public initiative took place in January, a meeting with the magistrate Eduardo Savarese, who presented the book "Letter from a homosexual to the church of Rome“.

“The invitation is addressed to the entire Church of Lucca – the promoters explain on the social network; – we would like to, Indeed, that the appointment would become an opportunity for discussion, knowledge and communion: to start a piece of the road to travel together".

It's not clear, from what we read, whether the initiative launched by the diocese of Lucca serves to make members of the group aware of Catholic doctrine and to accompany homosexual people towards an authentically Christian ideal of life, or, on the contrary, has the aim of constituting a channel of dialogue for the clearance of the claims of the most extremist homosexualist groups within the ecclesiastical walls. We sincerely hope that we fall into the first hypothesis.
