The project of states such as Israel and Saudi Arabia, implemented with the complicity of the West, it's well known: erase the Christian presence in the Near East. The article we are reporting denounces yet another piece of this criminal project: terrorist gangs (“moderates”) they confiscate the assets of Christians in Syria, as has already happened in the Christian villages of Palestine in 1948.
Idlib, Al Nusra confiscates the assets of escaped Christians

The expropriation does not concern the few Christians - all elderly - present in the city. The province is almost entirely in the hands of Islamic terrorist groups or fundamentalist groups. Only a small part is under the Free Syrian Army.

Idlib (AsiaNews) – Al Qaeda in Syria – which after evolving into Al Nusra, it now calls itself Hayaat Tahrir Al Sham[1] – has continued to seize houses for days, lands and assets of Christians within the province of Idlib under his control. In a statement issued by Tahrir Al Sham and published four days ago we read: “All Christian assets are considered war spoils and will consequently be seized”. Three days ago, by the Patriarchate of Armenian Catholics, AsiaNews has received confirmation that the Islamic terrorist groups of Idlib are in the process of confiscating the assets of Christians who fled during the war after the occupation by Daesh.
A resident of Gisr el Sheghur – who wished to remain anonymous – is among those who occupied an abandoned house. He himself states that La Hayaat “has informed all the inhabitants who have occupied houses belonging to the escaped Christians, to empty the premises or agree to pay a monthly rent" to the Islamic terrorist organization.
There is also the expropriation of Christian homes left in the power of attorney to their friends or neighbors. Al Hasyat does not recognize such legal powers of attorney. The most beautiful houses are assigned to Islamic leaders; other houses or shops are sold or rented. The kidnapping does not concern the Christians still in the city, which are very few and made up mainly of elderly people.
Christians in Idlib province, composed mainly of Armenians and Greek Orthodox, they had to flee from those places in 2012. Known for being wealthy and owners of land and houses, Christians have abandoned everything, fleeing to government-controlled areas. Many others have opted to emigrate abroad: some only temporarily in Türkiye, Lebanon or Armenia; others chose never to return and went to Europe, America, Australia.
The Christians of the province were mainly concentrated within the city of Idlib, but also in the surrounding villages of the agricultural and industrial hinterland, as well as in the new urbanized centers of Gisr el Sheghur, Halluz, Yaacobibya ed Al Ghassaniya. At the beginning of 2012, many Christians have suffered ferocious persecution at the hands of Daesh. Many of them were beheaded, with the excuse of being supporters "of the Damascus regime".
Since the armed Islamic groups of the Syrian Revolution took control, direct persecution and terrorism against Christians have increased. The faithful are forced to recant or suffer the death sentence in case of refusal. Another way out is escape. Above all, Daesh and Al Nusra have kidnapped many priests and nuns and demolished churches and monasteries, transforming them into mass grave cemeteries. Among the many testimonies, there is that of the Greek Orthodox church of Al Ghassaniya (December 2013).
In the 2015, in the city of Idlib, the church dedicated to the Madonna was sacked and suffered sacrileges by Gind El Aqsa, “The soldiers of Al Aqsa”.
Together with the allied fundamentalist factions, Hayaat Tahrir Al Sham almost controls the 70 % of the territories of the province of Idlib. It is made up of thousands of Syrian fighters, but also by Arab and non-Arab jihadists. The remainder 30% of the territory is controlled by less fundamentalist groups, but always opposed to Christians. This part is in fact controlled by groups that emerged from Al Qaeda and Isis, such as the “Turkman Islamic Party”, nostalgic for the Turkish Ottoman Empire; “Sekur Al Ghab” (Forest Falcons); Ansar Al Tawhid (Apostles of Unity); Haras Al Din (The Guardians of Religion); Ajdad Al Caucaz (The Grandparents of the Caucasus), composed of Chechens and Azerbaijani Turks; Jaysh Al Izza (The Army of Glory) and many others. Only a small group belongs to the Free Syrian Army.
