From Vauro to Mannoia up to Saviano, the democratic intelligentsia is on vacation. Only perfunctory comments on the viaduct tragedy. Or sewn mouths
The so-called intellectual left seems to be on vacation. In great communication, protagonist of this Genoese tragedy, few traces of those who are always on the front line to have their say to be part of the game. And at all costs. Few traces for those political jackals (and not), ready to ride the wave, sometimes drama, to gather some consensus or share points. Perhaps, the answer lies entirely in these whistles that accompanied the entry into the pavilions of the Genoa Fair of some political exponents who in recent years - according to them – they embodied the left, to be precise.
In these hours, the former minister Carlo Calenda, fresh from the Democratic Party membership (and it seems he regretted it), try to have your say. «Italy is always with new people. It's how we remove the past, we forget our responsibilities and demonstrate our perennial discontent with the State. It happened with Renzi, it's happening with Di Maio and Salvini. It lasts little. The question is to organize an alternative project". But he's not too optimistic: «We are returning from an electoral defeat afterwards 5 years of government. It will take time. I was hoping it could be done more quickly. But the Democratic Party is still stuck in Renzians against Anti-Renzians".
Even the deputy prime minister's attack, Luigi Di Maio, to the work of the Democratic Party regarding Autostrade per l'Italia, it could also give another key to understanding the health of the so-called intellectual left. On the other hand, the modus operandi of the self-styled left-wing democrats has emerged several times who, in order to guarantee concessions and privileges to friends of friends, have violated the collective interest. It's a fact, that even the usual artists of the intellectual left were absent from the scene on this occasion. Perhaps the theme of women and the mafia attracts more "audiences" than a bridge that collapses, taking over forty human lives. By the actress Luciana Littizzetto, for example, there is no statement or policy, right, umana. As well as the good and beautiful singer Fiorella Mannoia, always ready to thunder against the system and rulers. In politics, and not only that, arrogance doesn't pay. Worse when it is associated with crime: they were public works, of migrant management, of banks, of waste management, of the territory and so on. The silence of the artist Vauro is also deafening, at the Vauro Senesi registry office.
There is no trace of his pencil, nor his words regarding the bridge tragedy. Same thing as the writer Roberto Saviano who, Instead, these days he is engaged in an ever-lively clash with the Northern League minister, Matteo Salvini. Perhaps the theme of women and the mafia attracts more "audiences", we repeat apologizing. And the doctor Gino Strada? He is currently busy with the seventeenth national Emergency meeting scheduled for Trento in a few weeks. Just as the "scrooge" of Rai hosts is busy, Fabio Fazio, in preparing the new television program. In short, on the collapse of the Morandi bridge, the intellectual left has done the minimum wage.
Of course, many will reappear to give breath to those movements in defense of the territory and opposed to the creation of great works, regardless. Staying in Genoa, just remember all the protests against the construction of the Gronda which, apparently, could have avoided the Genoese tragedy. But this is another story.
