This is how Stalin planned the Holodomor
It all started when Stalin set out to rationalize the whole country, both from an agricultural and industrial point of view. Ukraine, as is known, provided the USSR with 50 percent of agricultural production. Communism, come to, brought lands and production under state control. In Ukraine instead, traditionally, the lands were fragmented into small agricultural properties belonging to the Kulaks. The USSR could not tolerate this division and forcibly started the process called "dekulakization", to put it in Kolchoz (cooperative agricole) in their place. All the millions of kulaks who rejected communist collectivization were killed or deported to Siberia and the Arctic regions. The few survivors were harassed in such a way that it was impossible for them to survive: the quotas to be delivered to the State became very high, and the Red Guards often confiscated all the foodstuffs owned by the peasants. Everything was requisitioned, from wheat to flour to bread to vegetables, the animals were killed because the farmers were not supposed to own anything. The result was that millions of people died, agricultural production collapsed, but Stalin won. In fact, his intent was not so much to increase agricultural production, how much to bend the kulaks and with them all the opponents of the communist dictatorship.
