The real problem of NGOs? Politico, non (solo) morale
Source: The eyes of war
I was and remain convinced that in the very early nineties Willy Huber, who then ran the Save the Children hospital in Mogadishu, in Somalia, saved my life. Plus, I have had dozens of contacts, and in some cases deep relationships, with representatives of NGOs in various parts of the world. So let's imagine if I can have a preconceived position towards the so-called "volunteering".
But a crisis is a crisis. And the current one is very profound, and it doesn't just concern the giants overwhelmed by the scandal like Oxfam or those who are reporting themselves because they had already taken measures and don't want to end up in the meat grinder like Save the Children o Doctors Without Borders. So deep that the Charity Commission, the body that supervises NGOs on behalf of the English government, reports receiving over a thousand reports of sexual abuse every year, that concern large organizations, small and tiny. And it is clear that the citizen of good will, the citizen-donor but also the citizen who pays taxes and sees his government entrusting tens of millions to NGOs, he's quick to ask himself a question: if these, in Haiti or elsewhere, they used the organization as a venue for orgies, who knows what happened to my money.

This is why they seem very naive, when not hypocritical, the invitations that now appear in the national and international press not to confuse the few who make mistakes with the many who act honestly, because there is a risk of canceling resources that still benefit populations affected by natural disasters, guerre, famines and so on. It is true, very true. But it will happen anyway. When it turned out that their men were stealing, great and historic parties that had made the history of Italy ended up in pieces. And no one thought of sparing them because they had contributed to building the country and providing well-being to the Italians.

Cato: The Roman wisdom of living, virtue, il lavoro e l'equilibrio

Of Daniele Palmieri
Cato: The Roman wisdom of living
Source: Ink black

Farmer, politico, soldier, literary; it is not easy to define Cato under the wing of a single category.
Of rustic origins, himself the son of farmers, Cato liked to call himself a “a new man”, that is, a man who had built his fortune from nothing exclusively with work and virtue.
Known to most either as a staunch opponent of Carthage or as one of the founders of Latin literature, Cato was a multifaceted figure, not free from limitations, defects and contradictions, but towards whom it is difficult not to feel a form of reverential respect.
Thinkers like Cicero were enchanted by it, Livy, Seneca, Plutarch, who elevated his incorruptible morality to an ideal model. His own progeny boasted noble descendants, including Cato known as the Uticense, Stoic philosopher and martyr for freedom in an attempt to stop the rise of Caesar.
Cato is therefore a figure with a thousand faces and there is nothing better than his writings to reconstruct the different facets of this varied personality.
The Roman wisdom of living collects its aphorisms, his most incisive memorable sentences and sayings, handed down and from the only complete work that has come down to us, he De Agricoultura, and from the fragments, direct or indirect, handed down by ancient authors. The text also contains the first Italian translation of Monostich of Cato, from the “golden rules” of good living handed down under the name of Cato, which had great diffusion in the Latin Middle Ages, precisely because of their ability to outline a simple morality, practical and incisive at the same time.
But why should one recover the thinking of this practical man, not at all inclined to philosophical speculation?
First of all, There is a reason why Cato's writings and thoughts were so successful in the ancient and medieval West. This is because, as previously mentioned, although it does not contain refined philosophical speculations, however, they testify to a practical wisdom of living, drawn from everyday experience, which is well suited to the ethical needs of everyday life.
Cato is one of the highest testimonies of Roman Wisdom, aimed at action rather than contemplation, but no less profound because the action itself becomes a way to experience and savor a form of divine knowledge, attainable only through work and the sweat of one's brow.

A short story of seven infamous years

Of Marcello Veneziani
A short story of seven infamous years
Source: Marcello Veneziani
In the midst of a depressing electoral skirmish, Let's look back to understand how we got to this point. Let's reconstruct the history of the last seven years.
In the beginning it was the end of Berlusconi. Knocked out of action by an internal and international coup, in the name of a magic word called spread, The most absurd seven-year period in our albeit anomalous history began for Italy.
Over the course of these seven years we have witnessed the suicide of the right, to the suicide of the left, to the unfortunate advent of the technicians, to the abnormal growth of anti-politics, to the death and resurrection of Berlusconi.
Right-wing suicide has a main name: Finish. The suicide of the left has a main name: Renzi. And two swarms of accomplices.
The failure of the technicians has the name of Monti (and maybe Fornero's face), the abnormal growth of anti-politics has Grillo's hair and Di Maio's face. And the void that remains, the vacant chair, has the name of Mattarella.
The collapse of politics mirrors the collapse of society; indeed it is the only point that connects the degradation of politics to the decadence of society. In the background there is the tragic overtaking of deaths over births, of the old over the young, plus the flight abroad of the smartest kids, replaced by the arrival of illegal immigrants. Mass society has become molecular, always connected and increasingly solitary, abitata da narcisi astiosi. Read More

How power controls the media and fabricates information to obtain consensus

Report Arianna Publishing
Of Enrica Perucchietti
How power controls the media and fabricates information to obtain consensus
Source: cliché
Federico Dal Cortivo for Italiasociale.net interviews Enrica Perucchietti, author of the essay «Fake News. From the manipulation of public opinion to post-truth. How power controls the media and fabricates information to obtain consensus" released yesterday, 19 March, for Arianna Editrice.
D: Dr. Perucchietti, his essay comes out almost concurrently with the Interior Ministry's announcement that the new online service for reporting fake news will be launched in view of the political elections ( fake news), the citizen will only need to enter the new Postal Police website, and click on a virtual red button and «report news that in our opinion seems to be hoaxes». His first impression on how the "new public service" will work and whether it will have an impact on the upcoming political elections, from the publication of memorials against opponents to fake news one could say…
R: The discussion is very delicate. In a nutshell, however we can think that in the future it could be used as a data collection and on the other as a censorship system to muzzle the web by progressively aiming to censor inconvenient sites and alternative information. I believe that this service is part of an increasingly aggressive campaign against fake news which, however, does not have the objective of protecting public opinion, as much as social control.
Once the reports have been received, a dedicated team from Cnaipic, a specialized body of the Postal Police will carefully verify through the use of specific techniques and software e, in case of proven unfoundedness, will publish a denial. How, I wonder, it will be decided which contents are true and which are false? How far will this system go?? We don't know. However, we know that in Europe the war on fake news is becoming increasingly heated and there are still few researchers, intellectuals and journalists are opposing all this. Something similar, Indeed, it is also happening in France: in the press conference at the beginning of the year, Macron has announced a bill to combat fake news and strengthen control of content on the internet during the election period. Cheating and hypocrisy: the two narratives (fake) of Iran and Israel

Netanyahu in Munich says Iran is the world's greatest threat (bum!). And the Israelis have always portrayed themselves as a small, defenseless country. False. On the other hand, Iran has its hypocrisies, his desire for hegemony. And his vision (loser) on the Palestinian question. (Of Fulvio Echelon, LAWS)

Rivista americana svela “l'arma più potente” della Corea del Nord

Kim Jong-un (archive photo)
Secret services can be an effective tool in the hands of Pyongyang in the event of an armed conflict on the Korean Peninsula, scrive The National Interest.
As noted by the magazine with reference to a Pentagon report, North Korea has two intelligence structures responsible for intelligence activities. The first is engaged in reconnaissance and secret operations abroad. The second agency is responsible for counterintelligence. However there are two other agencies operating in South Korea.

According to analysts, the General Staff Division of the North Korean Army, the main body for espionage abroad, was created in the image of the secret services of the armed forces of the Soviet Union. This department is made up of six units tasked with conducting covert operations, activities in cyberspace, intelligence gathering abroad in inter-Korean dialogue.

The magazine highlights that the intelligence services are one of the key pillars of North Korea's forces. Experts believe that North Korean agents are capable of operating successfully abroad. For example, Pyongyang's secret services were behind the murder of Kim Jong-nam, Kim Jong-un's older brother.

Summing up The National Interest calls North Korea's intelligence services ruthless and notes that they can be used successfully in the event of a conflict on the Korean Peninsula.

A new jihadist group made up of Chinese and Palestinians is born

Those Chinese who fight with IsisThere is a blood red thread that connects Syria to China passing through Palestine. A thread that winds through mountainous landscapes of the province of Idlib, continues among the Palestinian refugee camps, to reach the northern region of Xinjiang. The Uyghurs live here, a Turkic ethnic group of Islamic religion, always in open conflict with the Beijing regime, accused of racial and religious persecution.
Since the Syrian conflict began thousands of Chinese Muslims they decided to abandon their lands (which they call East Turkestan) to follow the call of international jihadism. In Syria they formed a battalion, Katibat al-Ghuraba al Turkistan (KGT), made up almost entirely of Chinese. Unlike other foreign jihadists, Uyghurs don't move alone, but they bring their wives and children with them. During the conflict they formed a separate unit within the Islamist galaxy. Often allied with Al-Qaeda and similar, other times they instead preferred to act in concert with the Islamic State. Those who have had the opportunity to meet them in recent years have described them as an extremely closed group in which almost no one speaks the Arabic language. Abu Darda al-Shami, member of the extremist group Jund al-Aqsa, he declared that the Uighurs “fight like lions in land offensives. I can say this with certainty after having fought with them in many battles in the North".
Very active on social media, the KGT men say they are ready to fight to the death and in all likelihood they will keep this promise since they will not be able to return to their homeland alive. In recent months it has been the Uyghurs who have kept the morale of all the rebel forces entrenched in Idlib high, the Chinese are the first to enter the fray and the last to retreat. Slowly, but in an inexorable way, the KGT was able to establish itself among the ranks of the jihadist groups active in Syria as the real leader of the last pocket of rebel resistance in Idlib. Macron now wants to establish the Grand Imam of France

Macron's Bonapartist illusionReporting of F.F.
Fighting Islamic fundamentalism throughintegration. This is the objective of the French head of state Emmanuel Macron That, as he explains in an interview with Sunday Newspaper, is considering one complete reorganization of Islam.
“My goal is to rediscover what lies at the heart of secularism, that is, the possibility of believing as well as not believing, for the purpose of safeguarding the national cohesion and the possibility of having freedom of religious conscience” – said Macron – “I will never ask any French citizen to believe 'moderately' in his God. It wouldn't make much sense. But I'll ask everyone, constantly, to have absolute respect for all the laws of the Republic".
As reported by the French weekly, the reform project is being examined by the Elysée but the transalpine president has already announced what the salient points will be. Among these there is no shortage of the establishment of a “Grand Imam of France” – on the model of the Chief Rabbi – capable of representing the moral authority of Islam before the State.
Hakim El Karoui suggested this solution to Macron, considered one of the most influential analysts of French Islam. According to him, Indeed, “the time has come to entrust the organization to the new generation of French Muslims”. For this reason it recommends that the Foundation for Islam in France, created in the past by the socialist prime minister Manuel Valls, is supported by a new association in charge of training of imams and theirs salaries, and of financing of places of worship. Forgetful Trinariuti

Reporting of Federici Studies Center

Istria. Because the ANPI forgets the anti-fascists massacred by the communists?
River, Dalmatia. Central ed esodo. Memories and amnesia. Il 10 February Italy remembers the tragedy of the "bitter" Adriatic. A round and fixed date but always little loved by "official" Italy.
Nothing new: it is difficult for the heirs of De Gasperi and Togliatti, Nenni and Moro, Pertini and Jotti remember with dignity a dirty chapter of the post-war period, a disgrace of republican history. Better to minimize, silence, slip. A few crowns, a few perfunctory phrases, barely a minute on the news. Then that's it. Enough with the past. Songs are better, the footballers, the fake cooks, the cute one. The eternal present.
Nothing strange: for this democracy without quality memory is unbearable. It's too tiring to explain that seventy years ago, on the eastern border a small piece of Italy was broken; too embarrassing to tell why and how three hundred thousand Italians were forced to flee their homes; impossible to honor those thirty thousand who were crushed by Yugo-communist terrorism. Better not to let it be known that an entire civilization - the small Istro-Dalmatic homeland that stretched from Koper to Fiume, from Trogir to Cattaro - was swallowed up by ideology and destroyed. Without mercy.

The next conflict and the "waiters" of Atlanticist power

Reporting of F.F.
Of Luciano Lago
The clocks of history are marking the time of the outbreak of a new great conflict which will inevitably involve Russia and Iran on one side, The United States with NATO, Israel and Saudi Arabia on the other side.
Conflict could very likely break out in Syria with the intervention of the USA and NATO in favor of Israel which feels threatened by the outcome of the Syrian war, but it is not excluded that the spark of a new conflict could igniten Europe, in Ukraine, where the USA and Canada are supplying sophisticated weapons to the Kiev government which is looking for the outcome of a war to reconquer Donbass in order to evade the very serious problems in which the country finds itself on the brink of economic and social collapse.
The neocons in Washington want at all costs to provoke a conflict with Russia and Iran and for this reason they are pressuring the Trump Administration to take the necessary steps with the massive concentration of weapons implemented by NATO in the Baltic, in Poland and Romania, under Russian borders so that the USA is ready to strike the first blow (nuclear) on bases in Russian territory.
The signs are all there, by the dizzying increase in military spending, from the rush to purchase stocks of weapons and ammunition, to the preparation of fallout shelters in the United States, to the preparation of tactical missiles in the new bases in Eastern Europe. On the other hand, US foreign policy is now in the hands of a group of warmongers whose priority is to reaffirm Washington's unilateral hegemony and stop the rise of Russia, of China and Iran. Luther's legacy, unacceptable for a Catholic

Reporting of Nicola Pasqualato
We find Luther's legacy not only in Protestant sects, but for about fifty years also within the Catholic Church itself and in the modern mentality in general. Among Catholics today, Luther's legacy (and Protestantism) we find it in the doctrines, sometimes mixed with Catholic doctrines, on the self-interpretation of Sacred Scripture, in those attitudes of conceiving the Church as an institution of men and as 'sinner' and of conceiving the Holy Mass as a 'commemorative dinner', where the priest merely acts as 'president'.
We also find a widespread radical subjectivism among Catholics, who cannot understand that Faith is objectively true, who must proclaim and teach it as such and instead seek communion with other confessions or religions in the name of an indefinite and vague ecumenism; a radical subjectivism, which opposes the concepts of dogma, heresy and anathema; an individualism, who seeks a direct relationship with God in everything, regardless of the Church, from the priesthood or the Sacraments, especially Holy Sunday Mass and Confession.
Protestant elements are found particularly in the 'charismatic movement' within the Catholic Church as this constitutes a departure from the Church, Dogmas and Sacraments, towards experimenting with a direct relationship with God. Read More

La caccia al fascista comincia all'anagrafe: "Sono ben 276 the Milanese named Benito"

Lombardia Progressista sifts through the electoral lists: “Disturbing result”
Milano – There are those who want to demolish the monuments built in the twenty years, there are those who propose changing the names of the streets named after the men of the Regime.
Of Luca Fazzo
And who goes even further, using electoral lists to raise a new alarm about the fascist resurgence: there are too many people called Benito around.
Never mind if in Spanish Benito means Benedict, if a martyr with this name is celebrated on 23 August; and patience, on the opposite side, if it was the luminous figure of Benito Juarez who made the name popular in the nineteenth century. Nothing to do. For the indignant people at the registry office, there was only one Benito, Mussolini. And that hundreds of Milanese (and probably a few thousand Italians) they persist in calling themselves the same as the Duce, without feeling the civic duty to run and get screwed, becomes a sign of the persistence of anti-democratic sentiments in the country.
One of the supporters of the "Progressive Lombardy" list took the trouble to go and sift through the electoral lists of Milan in search of the namesakes of the master from Predappio., the leftist wing of the coalition that supports Giorgio Gori's candidacy in the next regional elections. How he got the whim, Gori's fan doesn't explain it. But yesterday he published the results of his research on Facebook, under the symbol of your list. «I had the opportunity to consult – writes – the list of Milan voters and I looked for those who had Benito” in the proper name. This is the disturbing result". And off we go, with the detailed list: fortunately without surnames. Read More

Bad teachers in the field with the excuse of fascism

There is a cry of black danger (which isn't there) and the former BR Paroli and the ideologue Toni Negri take the chair
Of Giampaolo Iacobini
At the school of anti-fascism: bad teachers return to the classroom. There are those who prefer to write books and those, like once upon a time, he doesn't give up the front row of the processions.
The long wave of anti-fascism 2.0 brings ancient figures to the surface. Toni Negri, for example: philosopher theorist of violence as an element of destructuring the capitalist system, in the seventies he was among the maître à penser of Potere Operaio and Autonomia Operaia. Sentenced to 12 years for subversive association and moral complicity in the failed robbery of a bank which the 5 December 1974 it ended with the killing of a carabiniere by red extremists, he was elected to Parliament with the Radicals before emigrating to France to escape prison. He returned home in 1997. Dal 2003 he travels the world as a consultant (also hired by former Venezuelan president Ugo Chavez) and lecturer. And tomorrow he will be in Rome to present «Jail and exile History of a communist», written in 2015. «An unprecedented intellectual autobiographer, the story of a life, of a thought, of a generation, of a season of struggles not yet concluded", reads the invitation, overlooking those who fell under the blows of the thesis of violence as an instrument of liberation, today replaced by the passion for the anti-global movement, «a kind of a-scientific communism», says Negri in some interviews, «which will serve to overthrow the current empire, made by international economic relations".
