The new frontier of adult and female emancipation is now "confronting" yourself on video with children. Amelia Bonow, for example, explains on American TV that terminating the pregnancy is part of God's plan
Il 2 January Amelia Bonow chirped mockingly: «The video “Kids Meet Someone Who Had An Abortion” now has more than one million views. Huge thanks to the anti-choice crowd for sharing this widely and exposing tens of thousands of conservative women who have had abortions to the fresh and seductive idea that they don't have to hate themselves.". In the video, part of a series called Kids Meet, a format produced by HiHo kids and based on the comparison between children and adults (among others, a deaf, a holocaust survivor, a ventriloquist, a gender non-conforming person), Bonow explains to kids among the 10 and i 14 years that having an abortion is a bit like going to a dentist appointment, “you go to the doctor and they put this little straw inside your cervix and inside your uterus. And then they suck the pregnancy out of you. I felt a little uncomfortable, but then it ended and I felt really grateful that I wasn't pregnant anymore". To a boy who ventures that unwanted children can always be given up for adoption, Bonow replies that women cannot be forced to "create life", «I would feel like I was being forced, of having lost all rights. I should be the one to decide if my body creates life. Even if you give a child up for adoption, you always have a child out there, somewhere, sai?».

ABORTION? «THE DENTAL FLUSH IS WORSE»

But who is Amelia Bonow? A woman whose life changed 19 September 2015 after writing a post on Facebook that said "how a year ago I had an abortion at Planned Parenthood...": within a few hours the hashtag #ShoutYourAbortion (Shout out your abortion) had gone viral and Bonow was a pro-choice star called out by radio and TV. The post was in fact followed by a piece for Salon, “My Abortion Made Me Happy”, in which Bonow described in detail the feeling of power following the pregnancy test in a friend's bathroom: the first cigarette after the positive result, sexual intercourse with the partner after giving him the news, the phone call to her teacher explaining that she was pregnant («because making male authority figures act in this particular way gives me joy»), the weekend in a Mustang convertible with two homosexual friends partying in Palm Springs, and finally the trip to the Madison Avenue Planned Parenthood and the tears of gratitude for being there "exercising the right to control my own fertility, surrounded by strangers who treated me like acquaintances, she made me feel like one of the luckiest women in the world. I am". The whole “affair” “was over in three minutes. I've had more painful experiences with dental floss."; «My abortion made me happy. It's perfectly reasonable to feel happy that you weren't forced to become a mother.". In short, Bonow is recognized as the writer and activist who lives in Seattle and who founded the #ShoutYourAbortion movement with the mission of normalizing and celebrating abortion as an act of female empowerment: «We are fighting for our lives, and it's time to tell the truth – explains the website of the activists praised by the New York Times al Los Angeles Times –. Every single day, all kinds of people have miscarriages, for any reason. (…) Abortion helps people live their best lives. We are proof of this. And we will become stronger and stronger.".

«IT IS PART OF GOD'S PLAN»

Bonow is so fixated on her abortion that she announced for the 2020 the publication of his Shout Your Abortion also in a “for kids” version, after the book came out a few months ago to tell the stories of a hundred women who had abortions among 19 they 85 years. Guys like the ones in the video mentioned, who also demonstrate that they master the topic like young actors in a sitcom, between laughter and amused grimaces. When a little girl professes to be Catholic, Bonow asks her if she knows what the Church teaches about abortion. «I don't think the Church likes it, sees it as the murder of a child", «And what do you think?», the activist asks her, "I think it's up to you to choose", "in my opinion too", replies another little Catholic, «this comforts me!», Bonow exclaims smiling. Who engages in a discussion with a boy about what God should think of abortion: «I think it suits him, because there are still children who are born – says the boy –. In your opinion, what do you think about abortion??». "I think it's part of God's plan", replies Bonow.

BUT WHAT DO CHILDREN HAVE TO DO WITH IT?

No scientific medical mention, no mention of the physical or psychological consequences of the gesture. Flying over the abortionist God, we ask ourselves: but what do children have to do with the Herculean effort of an adult who considers abortion to be the same as the removal of dental decay? Since when to pretend that it's a completely irrelevant thing for a woman (theory that also clashes a bit with the testimonies of thousands of women who have chosen the same path as Bonow), that is, telling the biggest lie about abortion to children, it should be a sign of emancipation, female power and rights? Already, children and rights. Gianna Jessen, survivor of a saline abortion, responded to Bonow's video: «As a person born in an abortion clinic, resulting in cerebral palsy, and as a woman, I would like to be able to talk to these kids from another perspective, that of the aborted child. Where were my rights then?».
