The Congress of Families splits Forza Italia, Gardini pronta all'addio

The Italian MEP criticized Tajani's choice to desert the Verona demonstration. But she was there, his speech among the most applauded.
The World Congress of Families risks widening the rifts within the center-right, between moderates and sovereignists. If in fact the last of these have strongly embraced the cause of Verona (see Matteo Salvini or Giorgia Meloni), Berlusconi supporters and former Christian Democrats unexpectedly appeared much colder.
Let's be clear, many Forza Italia representatives had words of support for the three days dedicated to the traditional family, several were present at the initiatives, even if only on a personal basis. Ma many preferred to desert, perhaps thanks to the conference organized a few hours away in the capital by Silvio Berlusconi, to celebrate the 25 years since the founding of the party.
Otherwise she thought of becoming an MEP Elisabetta Gardini, than on the birthday of the Knight's "creature"., he preferred the Congress of Families, where she was a speaker. The Verona audience strongly appreciated and applauded his courageous intervention.
A few hours after the success on the stage in Verona, Gardini lashed out in the press, against his own party. “To Tajani? A chauvinist". A frontal attack on Forza Italia's number two, guilty of having promised his presence in Congress, and then deserted. The MEP therefore sided against the most powerful blue in Strasbourg, accusing him of having had little courage in his choices. But there's more. Tajani would no longer let Berlusconi approach Gardini "who intends to tell him about a party that doesn't exist". Finally, the president of the European Parliament would have developed a strategy to hinder the race for Gardini's reconfirmation, placing in the college a candidate who the deputy defined as "more Austrian than Italian".
In short, the ingredients for a war at home are all there, so much so as to push Gardini to issue an ultimatum. “Or change something, or I'm leaving". In fact, many see the former Rai journalist projected towards the sovereignist area and Giorgia Meloni's party. But it wouldn't be an isolated case. As is known, also the governor of Liguria Giovanni Toti is now closer to Fratelli d'Italia than to Fi. Together with them, MPs are also considering moving to the Conservative Party Laura Ravetto e Gabriella Giammanco.

  • At least they would abandon that party which is based only on the name of an old man who has been divorced many times and has gone down in history as a party organizer. ! As well, not to be forgotten, great friend of Gaddafi , ready to leave him at the climax… I await the moment when a party blossoms for the false defense of Italy, melts as it should be, to give life to a new entity, at least…
