E anche sul boom di natalità Kagame dimostra di guardare oltre il problema – indubbiamente reale – dell’estrema prolificità degli africani quale causa della loro povertà:
“Non è solo una questione di dimensioni della popolazione. Quello che conta è il contesto in cui cresce la popolazione. La Cina ha 1,3 billions of inhabitants. However, non si sono viste legioni di cinesi migrare illegalmente in altri paesi.
Anche se la popolazione dell’Africa non crescesse, in molti posti la povertà sarebbe ancora così grande che le persone cercherebbero alternative. L’Europa ha investito miliardi su miliardi di dollari in Africa. Qualcosa deve essere andato storto.”
