Italy-EU clash, parla l'economista Bifarini: "E' il momento dell'Italexit"

After the definitive rejection of the maneuver by the European Commission with the prospect of the opening of infringement proceedings against Italy for excessive deficit, Many people are wondering which path to take. At this point, what should be done? Come to terms with Brussels as the Minister of European Affairs Paolo Savona seems to be asking, or move forward with the wall against the wall as Salvini and Di Maio ask instead? And above all, whether or not the time for a definitive break has arrived, perhaps starting that path towards exit from the euro that many have hoped for? The Special he asked the economist Ilaria Bifarini.

It makes sense to still seek an agreement with the European Union on the maneuver?
“I believe at this point that the conditions no longer exist. There is a fury on the part of the European Union towards Italy which is motivated more by ideological and political reasons than by economic issues. The deficit spending envisaged by this maneuver is absolutely in line with what was implemented by previous governments, indeed even lower.

The public debt, due to the payment of interest on the debt itself, he grew up with Monti himself, proving that austerity measures don't work, as well as with Letta, Gentiloni and Renzi. But never as with the yellow-green coalition had there been such a harsh and obstinate attack from both Brussels and the media and the entire powerful propaganda machine.".
Like never before, we are at a crossroads? Leave the euro or resign yourself to perpetual subjection?
"Already, The time has come for courageous choices. Continuing to submit to unfounded rules and parameters that have become dogmas means forever renouncing one's economic and political sovereignty. An unacceptable loss of democracy for citizens, who expressed their desire for change at the polls. There is now too strong a disconnect between the demands of the populations and those of the technocrats in Brussels, that do not represent them.
Through the imposition of accounting parameters, a dictatorship of the markets has been created which is only generating poverty and unemployment. The only possible way out is to recover one's monetary sovereignty".
Is it a good time to try the Italexit route or are less drastic solutions still possible?
“Continuing to 'deal' with the EU which administers the deadly pill of austerity means condemning ourselves to a slow and painful agony. Despite the terrorism created by the mainstream, return to our own currency, whether it is called lyre or any other name, it wouldn't represent anything transcendental. To the world, apart from the Eurozone and the former French colonies which adopt the CFA franc, each country has its own currency. None of the catastrophes envisaged by those who deliberately engage in terrorism would occur. The bugaboo of inflation, for example, it is unfounded, because we currently find ourselves in a situation of deflation with a crisis in demand and high unemployment. As well as the bank run, being in the era of electronic transactions. In short, no locusts”.
Minister Paolo Savona says that the government must also change, not just the maneuver. What's happening?
“It seems that the statements have been denied, or in any case resized. There is certainly nervousness, given the situation of strong conflict with the EU. On the other hand there is a press and a communications apparatus that roots against the government and does everything to ridicule and delegitimize it. Not even in Berlusconi's time was there such fury. This tends to exacerbate the conflict and radicalize positions, creating a climate that is not at all favorable".

  • Already, everything said by the redeemed Bocconi student is all true ! The problem is that , it seems, that the government was not sufficiently prepared for this deadly clash with the European Commission and is now wavering and not sure what to do….As the former Bocconi student says , returning to the lira while maintaining a parallel currency does not affect the state of the relationship at all, but it allows the nation of Italy to become autonomous as England is, Poland, Hungary , Romania , who mint their own coin, together with the euro. Simple and doable, but brave.

  • But even before the elections the EU was preparing the clash against Lega and M5S , there is nothing to be surprised about
