The autonomous province of Trento through the voice of the president Maurizio Fugatti has ordered a stop to gender relations education courses, commonly called «Gender»
Since after the Christmas holidays in 24 Trentino schools, the project will be suspended pending further investigations
The decision was made after a discussion with the equal opportunities councilor Stefania Segnana, the education councilor Mirko Bisesti and the labor councilor Achille Spinelli.
Bisesti himself on his facebook profile celebrated the decision with the Salvinian hashtag now known by everyone, #from words to deeds
A project that the center-right has always strongly contested in recent years with an unprecedented outcry.


It is no mystery that the new council, led by Maurizio Fugatti has in the past erected the barricades for books on gender education in Trentino schools, carrying forward the traditional ideology ofsexual orientation.

The project was financed by the previous centre-left council through the Trento employment agency with 91 thousand euros.
The circular reads:: «It is considered necessary to verify the full consistency of the educational contents of the courses with the expectations of the families with respect to the values ​​that the provincial government intends to pursue and the consequent directions".
We talk about 83 education courses on gender relations, with a total of 858 hours of training activities.
The activities specifically included two lines: one concerned training courses dedicated to teachers on stereotypes and gender differences which included gender education workshops for students to promote equality and combat violence. The other instead of meetings and seminars for parents on «influence of stereotypes in educational choices».
Giusta Fugatti's decision was taken after a report linked to the distribution of the book «Extraterrestrial on par» in the fourth grade of an elementary school in the city.
The book talks about a small extraterrestrial who is neither a boy nor a girl because he only discovers his sex after i 20 years.
According to councilor Stefania Segnana, an in-depth study needs to be done to understand what this path on gender really involves, which cannot focus on the need not to educate children about the difference between boys and girls. However, the initiatives will not be suspended but rather their guidelines will be changed.

The provincial government instead proposes a model of patriarchal society, with the white, heterosexual man at the center, fundamentalist from a religious point of view, backward in social relationships. And that he is scared and therefore hates anything "different". At this rate a community is sinking into barbarism.".
The advisory group of the Trentino Democratic Party is on the same line: «In the legitimate freedom of the new provincial government to carry out its own investigations, to understand what important and serious work our schools are doing every day, to help our students build a more equal society that is more just and respectful, in interpersonal relationships as in the true freedom of educational choices, we hope that those who have to decide will be able to make use of the very competent contribution of school operators, which can demonstrate its educational importance, away from political exploitation on the non-existent "gender theory". We also hope that these correct checks will be carried out very quickly, because if school programming remains stagnant for too long, the school and the students lose a year".
