The birth of whites-only South African towns would, according to the promoters of the initiative, the only possible solution to avoid the disappearance of the Afrikaner identity from the country
In South Africa, a 25 years since the end of apartheid, the white minority decided to react to “discriminations” hitherto suffered at the hands of the black majority.
The descendants of the Boers have in fact recently chosen to give life to some towns “for whites only”, intended to provide job opportunities and protection to victims of “reprisals” promoted by the black population. The territory affected by the appearance of communities reserved for Afrikaners is that of the Northern Cape province, in the north-west of the country.
The first housing reality created to accommodate only white individuals was Eureka, recently built a short distance from the city of Garies, always in the province in question, on the initiative of agricultural entrepreneur Adriaan Alettus Nieuwoudt. In the newborn community, equipped with schools, well-equipped shops and clinics, the Afrikaners will be able to, according to him, “live and work demonstrating their identity and language without the risk of retaliation”. The entrepreneur, proclaimed himself promoter of the fight against “disappearance of the white race from South Africa”, has therefore recently announced the birth of Eureka to the local media, promising to give plots of a thousand square meters to every white person who decides to move to this mono-ethnic reality.
Following the foundation of the latter, Nieuwoudt has created a movement, called exactly Eureka, aimed at raising the necessary funding to establish other towns reserved for the descendants of the Boers. Interviewed by South African networks, However, he rejected the accusations of racism made against his initiative by political organizations representing the black majority.
The agricultural entrepreneur, on the contrary, claimed that Afrikaners would be the only victims of racist practices in contemporary South Africa, listing numerous attacks that have occurred in recent months against the properties and homes of the white minority at the hands of people of color. The foundation of urban realities only for descendants of Europeans would therefore be, in Nieuwoudt's opinion, the only possible solution to avoid the "mass exodus" of the Boers abroad, now in the process of being kicked out, prompted by the retaliations plotted by the blacks, from a land that has been their home for centuries.
After describing the aims of the movement Eureka, the self-proclaimed leader of the “white recovery” has sent a message to all Afrikaners ahead of the South African general elections next year 8 maggio. In fact, he urged this ethnic minority to desert their seats, as, according to him, the national political system that arose with the fall of the apartheid regime it wouldn't protect white people at all, constantly branded by the institutions as “enemies to be erased”.
