Let's take this opportunity to answer a question that came in recently: “Why, unlike other sites similar to yours, you cover current events a lot?” Why, rejecting intellectualism and loving non-fiction, we live in this world and not in the empyrean, therefore we prefer to give food for thought on what actually happens so as not to only give what is theoretical or theoretical. Furthermore 10 years, the choice proved to be a winning one”. (N.d.r.)
Of Marcello Veneziani

In the end, the rubbish arrived. Out with the populist government that came from the polls, away the minister unwelcome to the eurarchs, the technical government wanted by the Palace is born, in the name of European economic terrorism. One nightmare ends and another begins, maybe worse. Three months and we are worse than before. Mattarella's no to Savona and, through him, the entire establishment, it is the no to sovereign Italy.
If you go to vote, Salvini and the center-right start with the advantage, Di Maio takes a big risk and Diba is back in his place; but now expect the anti-populist bombing, financial terrorism to sow panic among people and intimidate voters... After a long agony the second republic is over but we don't know what stuff is starting: the third republic, the fourth international, Beethoveen's fifth...
For now let's deal with the Eurocratic Empire and his local emissaries and Cottarelli to join Europe and calm down the populist fury. And I don't want to think about what earthquake would happen if there was a large majority in parliament, between brothers of Italy, league and grillini, aimed at the impeachment of the President of the Republic. We are facing an unprecedented crisis….
When you see lined up on the same side is Italy-phobic Germany, the Eurocrats, the left, the newspapers, rating agencies, Mister Spread and the Quirinale, the Italians have no choice but to rally around Salvini & Savona. On the one hand it's the system, l’establishment, la Troika, accounting and financial primacy, the conservation of structures, the ideological and technocratic apparatus that has brought us this far and on the other there are peoples, the citizens, their vote and their discomfort. You understand that national and popular sovereignty is at stake, the possibility for a government to re-discuss obligations and threats, and not to suffer them. Savona and Salvini they do not discuss staying in Europe or the euro but the way of staying there and the pre-assigned roles. All this is true, and joins the call to national dignity, to the trampled and wounded Italian pride. This is not political bullying or populist arrogance. Savona was neither the cure-all nor the Europe-killer; he is simply a lucid and authoritative economist and the best of the ministers proposed in the May list of the Salvini-Di Maio duo.
It's impressive to see how many half-socks and total naives are accepted by the Quirinale and by the entire political-media-institutional apparatus in even important ministries, but the only expert is not accepted, competent, which fully expresses in an economic context the line of change and national sovereignty enshrined in the Constitution and subsequently violated.
Listen carefully the mafia-style and anti-democratic warnings of the exponents of that funeral procession that is the left. They are fine with the most shady of grillini while zero tolerance towards Salvini, Savona, “the right” and towards the true content of the change, wanted and voted for by the voters. An ideological position, prejudicial, threatening, anti-Italian who once again does not understand the meaning of the times, of challenges and peoples. And it lingers on left-progressive schemes, right-regression.
The picture is clear but it must also be underlined with honesty and a critical sense two adversities. At first is that the Italian victims/European executioners scheme brutally and imprecisely simplifies the issue. Both as a people and as a ruling class, our troubles do not depend only on the tyrants outside but also on the scoundrels inside, which also reflect our people. Let's not place blame on the outside, errors, waste, abuses and debts that arise from ourselves. It's convenient to do so but it's not truthful.
The second adversity it concerns precisely the actors of change. To re-discuss the European structures and the role of Italy, to renegotiate the parameters, we need a strong government, balance, able to face challenges. And here comes all the discouragement. Salvini and the Northern League are a team on which, with some risk and some serious counterweights, we could even venture to bet.
But you would have seen a yellow-green government, with grillini who have no preparation, no conviction, no story, be able to get back on top and together make ourselves heard in Europe? You didn't feel the air of Greece, of Tzipras and how they then reduced themselves? Imagine a gentleman drawn on the grillini wheel, this Count, he could have negotiated with Merkel and Junker? Do you think that a Di Maio could have supported him by giving strength, credibility and security in the government? And what if all this was just a push to get back to voting? We started with many critical reservations regarding the nascent government, we tried to suspend them so as not to go against Italy which had voted for them and not reject them before seeing them in action.
Now we inevitably side in their favor when we see the furious reaction of the establishment and Italy humiliated. But those two points remain. And the idea that all this will ultimately translate into another electoral war campaign does not excite us, while we are worried about the buffer government created to suffocate the populist wave in the cradle, to let it simmer with the alibi of managing a semester of peremptory deadlines. Go Salvini, Next Savona, Long live Italy. But what a mess...
