Gender theory at school: in Umbria the scandal test. It cost 40 thousand euros

It is causing bitter controversy, in Umbria, a questionnaire for middle and high school students which should serve to prevent and combat bullying phenomena, but which according to several observers risks being a form of subtle indoctrination with respect to issues such as sexuality or family models. That is, behind the declared intent to fight homophobia lies an implicit campaign for gender theories.

The questionnaire, developed by the Department of Philosophy of the University of Perugia, is aimed at 54 institutes in the Region and was financed by the Umbria Region, led by PD, with 40 thousand euros. It is divided into six parts and many questions, after an initial survey of the personal data (but anonymity is guaranteed) and religious beliefs, they focus on gender and sexual orientation issues. Among the questions there is also one who asks: «How would you define your sexual orientation? 1) Exclusively heterosexual 2) Mostly heterosexual 3) Bisexual 4) Exclusively homosexual 5) Predominantly homosexual 5) Asexual". This is then followed by a series of questions about «gay men», «lesbian women» and «immigrants», which caused some alarm in the families.

The first to express concern about this questionnaire were the parents of the children and in particular those who identify with it “Let's defend our children” committee. But the complaint about the fact that "certain questions" may be "inappropriate" for middle school children was soon picked up by politicians. «President Marini should report to the chamber on the questionnaire distributed in schools in Umbria: it is always right to fight sexual discrimination and condemn bullying episodes, but I consider certain questions addressed to eighth grade students frankly inappropriate", he stated Marco Squarta, exponent of FdI and spokesperson for the centre-right in the regional assembly.

«After the "fascistometer" of the writer Michela Murgia, we have the homophobometer created by Professor Batini (Federico Batini is the teacher responsible for the project, ndr)», he said Sergio De Vincenzi by Umbrianext, speaking of «a battery of open and multiple choice questions of a disconcerting indifference, as well as dangerous because it is aimed at investigating the climate of homophobia among the new generations through clichés and stereotypes and by creating ties of affinity with any political positions and religious faith of the children». It was then Claudio Ricci of the Mixed Group to announce a question for immediate response to the council, underlining that «the questions proposed may represent potential invasive levers of educational freedom, due to families", While the League took the case to a national level, with a statement from some parliamentarians announcing that «as parliamentary and council groups of the League we will take on all the political and institutional initiatives to counter those who want to debase the educational primacy of the family and transform our schools into a terrain of indoctrination and propaganda».
